Rajasthan Royals have managed to amass a strong unit in IPL 2025 auction and boast of a formidable batting line-up. The team decided to retain Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer – all stars who are known to be explosive with the bat in the shortest format of the game. They further made some great buys at the auction, acquiring the services Nitish Rana, Shubham Dubey among other Indian talents. The Sanju Samson-led team will head into IPL 2025 with one of the strongest batting units.

Power-packed opening duo

RR chose to retain their star opening combo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson ahead of IPL 2025. Both batters have been in red-hot form in T20s and T20Is in 2024 and make one of the most deadliest pair of openers in IPL. Young Jaiswal has already amassed 1607 runs from 52 IPL matches, including two centuries. The southpaw boasts of a strike rate of 150.61, making him one of the best openers in the business.

His partner & RR skipper Sanju Samson is a seasoned veteran with 4419 runs to his name in the tournament. With three hundreds to his name, the Kerala batter rediscovered his golden touch as opener while playing for India in T20Is against South Africa earlier this year. The duo will surely be a headache for the rest of the teams in IPL 2025.

Strong middle-order ft. Riyan Parag, Nitish Rana

RR managed to buy former KKR captain Nitish Rana for Rs 4.2 crore at the IPl 2025 auction, making him a steal deal for the franchise. The batter is one of the more experienced players in RR’s squad and boasts of 2636 runs to his name in IPL. Rana is no stranger to playing in the top four and has been one of the promising batters for KKR in the past. Additionally, Nitish Rana’s ability to bat both as an anchor and finisher will be of additional value for RR. In 2023, he played 7 matches at number 3 and scored 249 runs with an average of 49.8, including two half-centuries.

Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer can be RR’s number four, five and six batters. While Parag is an upcoming star who has already showed promising signs with his ability to let the bat do the talking. Similarly, Dhruv Jurel has also been in stellar form in 2024, both in IPL and in domestic tournaments.
