Jasprit Bumrah ha tomado 40 terrenos con un promedio de 18,80 y una economía de 2,46 en 16 entradas de prueba mientras jugaba a los bolos en Australia.
Alex Carey addressed the media on Tuesday, December 3 at the Adelaide Oval. While he remained hopeful that Australia will make a comeback in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT), Carey was asked a simple question at the end: How to tackle Jasprit Bumrah?
The Jasprit Bumrah factor
But why only Bumrah? Well, the answer is simple. The winning captain in Perth is just levels above everyone else. His mastery over his art and determination to outdo opponents ball after ball is just magical to witness. In Perth, it was his fifer in the first innings that set the tone up for the victory. He duly received the Player of the Match, despite Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring a daddy hundred in the second innings. In 16 Test innings in Australia, Jasprit Bumrah has claimed 40 wickets at an incredible average of 18.80 and an economy rate of 2.46.

While India do have the services of Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, Harshit Rana, and other pacers, none of them can create an impact like Bumrah, who has now developed a fear in the Australian camp.
What did Alex Carey say on Jasprit Bumrah?
When asked about how he and the entire Australian team would tackle Jasprit Bumrah, Carey remained hopeful. While he acknowledged the greatness of Bumrah, the southpaw said that the hosts would come up with “solutions”. He emphasized taking Bumrah on when the ball gets a bit older. Carey even mentioned Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy, the two debutants in Perth, and claimed that they bowled brilliantly as well.
“Look, he is a fantastic bowler. He has been for a number of years. Our batters are world-class as well. We always try to come up with solutions. We have had a look at him now. Hopefully I can combat him in that second spell, getting a little bit deeper in the innings with an older ball. We saw Travis Head counterpunch. So, I trust our batters; we’ll find a way. Not only Bumrah, they (India) played a couple of debutants as well, you bowled well.”
Jasprit Bumrah finished the first BGT Test with the match figures of 7/72. The next BGT Test beckons us as the Adelaide Oval will host the Pink ball Test from December 6 onwards.
