Las Indias Occidentales jugarán tres T20I y tres ODI contra India en diciembre. Las reuniones se llevarán a cabo en Mumbai y Vadodara.
The West Indies cricket team has announced its squad for the upcoming tour of India. However, one key player will be missing due to injury. Star all-rounder Stafanie Taylor will not be part of the team for the six white-ball matches (three T20Is and three ODIs) in Mumbai and Vadodara next month.
Stefanie Taylor misses out
Taylor, 33, picked up a knee injury during the recent ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and was sidelined for one match. Although the West Indies did not reveal the full extent of Taylor’s injury, her absence will be felt in the team.
Skipper Hayley Matthews will lead the West Indies in the series. Former captain Deandra Dottin will also return to ODI cricket for the first time in over two years. Dottin had an impressive performance in the T20 World Cup, hitting the most sixes of any player. The West Indies team will look to replicate their form from the T20 World Cup, where they qualified for the semi-finals. Coach Shane Deitz is hoping his team can take the momentum from the World Cup into the series against India.
“We want to take the good momentum we gained at the T20 World Cup into this series,” Deitz said. “We showed that we can compete against the top teams, which was pleasing.” Deitz also hopes that the series will provide opportunities for his players to get noticed by Indian IPL teams. The West Indies will play three T20Is and three ODIs against India in December. The matches will be played in Mumbai and Vadodara.
