After suffering a loss in the first game, India’s Grandmaster D Gukesh managed to draw the second round match against Ding Liren in World Chess Championship. Gukesh, who played with black pieces in the bout, remarked that it was always nice to play with black in World Championship, adding that the battle between the arch-rivals still had a long way to go.

Gukesh managed a remarkable turnaround after suffering a loss on Monday. The Indian Grandmaster calmy went about his job while also succeeding in getting Liren to be calm. 18-year-old Gukesh is the youngest ever challenger to the World title and will become the first Indian after legendary Vishwanathan Anand to win the title.

“There is obviously some pressure for anyone playing in a World Championship; there is a lot of pressure. But I also see it as a privilege that I can represent so many people and my country. I am just focusing on one game at a time. Hopefully, things go my way,” D Gukesh said.
