Ishan Kishan is heading to the Arun Jaitley Stadium for the Delhi Capitals (DC), as per an entertaining JioStar mock IPL 2025 Auction – The IPL Auction War Room. All the ten franchises were represented by former players and IPL stars. As for DC, the franchise was headed by Aakash Chopra, who raised the paddle to a whopping Rs 15.50 crore to acquire the services of Kishan at the mock auction on the eve of the real IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah.

Ishan Kishan bought by DC for Rs 15.50

Aakash Chopra, heading DC, tried to get Jos Buttler, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. But unfortunately for him, other teams went all in for them. Hence, when Ishan Kishan’s name came out in the mixed slot, he was pertinent in getting the former MI player. The bidding started at Rs 5 crore as MI and DC went in a bidding war. Around the Rs 10 crore mark, Gujarat Titans (GT) entered the bidding but DC swooped in at Rs 15.50 crore. This is just Rs 25 lac extra that Ishan Kishan got during IPL 2022 to IPL 2024 window.

As mentioned above, MI paid Kishan paid more than Rs 15 crore for Kishan at the 2022 auction. This was after they didn’t have a spot to retain him. This wasn’t the case this time around. They choose another southpaw, Tilak Varma, over him. This might be an indication that he have lost faith in him.

Overall, Kishan doesn’t have great numbers. His 2020 season (516 runs at 57.33 while striking at 145.74) was so good that it gave MI false hope. They paid big for him and didn’t get the results they wanted in the seasons that followed. In 7 seasons, his average has been over 30 just thrice, as an opener, he’s scored over 400 runs just thrice, and his strike has been over 140 just four times.

Washington Sundar goes to LSG!

Washington Sundar is expected to bag huge bucks as he offers massive variety. He can bowl in the powerplay, bowl in middle overs, bat in the middle order and can even open the innings. All these traits were reiterated by Deep Dasgupta, who represented the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the mock auction. The Delhi Capitals and LSG started the bidding war for Sundar, whose base price was set at Rs 2 crore. His former employers – the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) – also entered the ‘war’ but LSG scooped in for Rs 12.50 crore.
