Subasta de IPL: Mohammed Shami no jugó en IPL este año, pero es el jugador de bolos más exitoso de GT hasta ahora.
JioCinema’s Mock Auction War Room gave a clear idea, as to where Mohammed Shami’s bid could go at the November 24, 25s IPL Auction in Jeddah. He was bagged for INR 12.5 Cr by GT after using the RTM card. It so happened, that he was bagged by RCB for 11.5 Cr initially, and then GT stepped in with an RTM. Upon being given a chance to raise the bid, RCB increased the bid to 12.5 Cr, and GT gladly took it.
That, in short means, a fit Mohammed Shami is what everyone seeks. Not just Team India, but all the IPL franchises, ahead of the IPL Auction 2025, will be only hoping that the ace speedster has returned to full fitness after a hiatus of a year. And that could mean “raining money” on the 34-year-old, who was not retained by GT at the IPL Retentions.
Shami announced his arrival to fitness by playing the Ranji Trophy match for Bengal, against MP, where he picked up 7 wickets. Since then, the scenarios have totally changed, and teams are already making strategies to bag him at the IPL Auction, and GT, to RTM him.
For the record, he is GTs most successful bowler ever despite missing the entire IPL 2024 season. In 33 matches so far, he has managed to claim 48 wickets for the side, and played a pivotal role in their success stories of 2022, 2023. Overall in 110 matches he has picked up 127 wickets, at an average of 26.86. Most importantly, his overall economy rate has only been 8.43.
