TROOPERS SAY THE CRASH WAS LAST NIGHT AT ABOUT 1140 AT NEW PROSPECT CHURCH ROAD IN SINGLETON ROAD IN ANDERSON. WE’RE TOLD THEIR VEHICLE WENT OFF THE ROAD TO THE RIGHT AND DOWN AN EMBANKMENT BEFORE OVERTURNING. WE’RE TOLD THE VICTIM DIED ON SCENE IN NORTH CAROLINA, THE GUILFORD COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SAYS A MAN IS UNDER ARREST IN CONNECTION WITH THE DEATH OF A FORMER CLEMSON FOOTBALL PLAYER. DEPUTIES SAY 26 YEAR OLD DEANDRE OVERTON WAS SHOT AND KILLED AT A HOUSE PARTY IN GREENSBORO BACK ON SEPTEMBER SEVENTH. DEPUTIES SAY 20 YEAR OLD JEREMIAH BLANKS WAS ARRESTED IN DETROIT. HE’S CHARGED WITH FELONY FIRST DEGREE MURDER, AND WE’RE TOLD HE REMAINS IN CUSTODY IN MICHIGAN PENDING EXTRADITION. THE GREENVILLE COUNTY CORONER’S OFFICE SAYS A WOMAN DIED MONTHS AFTER A SHOOTING BACK IN AUGUST. OFFICIALS SAY CHARLES SWAIN, THE SECOND, SHOT TWO WOMEN, THEN TURNED THE GUN ON HIMSELF. IT HAPPENED AT A HOME ON NORTH HARRISON BRIDGE ROAD. THE WOMEN WERE TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL, BUT THE CORONER’S OFFICE SAYS MARY ANN KNIGHT DIED AT THE HOSPITAL MONDAY. THE SPARTANBURG MAN IS FACING CHARGES AFTER POLICE SAY HE ASSAULTED A POWER COMPANY WORKER, ACCORDING TO THE INCIDENT REPORT. WITNESSES TOLD POLICE A MAN APPROACHED POWER COMPANY WORKERS ON MARION AVENUE ON SUNDAY, PULLED OUT A WEAPON AND HIT A WORKER IN THE FOREHEAD WITH IT, THEN WALKED AWAY. POLICE SAY NOBODY WANTED TO PRESS CHARGES, BUT THEY DID ASK OFFICERS TO CHECK THE AREA FOR THE MAN, AND WHEN OFFICERS FOUND THE SUSPECT, THEY SAY HE PULLED OUT A PISTOL PISTOL GRIP TASER INSIDE A HOLSTER AND POINTED IT AT AN OFFICER. POLICE SAY 41 YEAR OLD JONATHAN PARKS FACES A CHARGE OF AGGRAVATED BREACH OF PEACE. WELL, TODAY MARKS DAY FIVE IN THE SEARCH FOR A BROADWAY DANCER FROM SOUTH CAROLINA. 28 YEAR OLD ALEC WILLIAMS WAS PERFORMED OR HAS PERFORMED IN HAMILTON. AN AMERICAN MUSICAL, AND MJ, THE MUSICAL. RICHLAND COUNTY INVESTIGATORS SAY HE WAS LAST SEEN LEAVING HIS HOME IN COLUMBIA ON OCTOBER THIRD. HIS CAR WAS FOUND A DAY LATER NEAR THE CONGAREE NATIONAL PARK. INVESTIGATORS SAY THEY’RE INVESTIGATING THIS AS A MISSING PERSON THAT COULD INVOLVE A FOUL PLAY. SPARTANBURG DISTRICT FOUR SCHOOLS WILL BE CLOSED TODAY. THE DISTRICT MADE THAT ANNOUNCEMENT LAST NIGHT AFTER REPORTS OF MOLD OR MILDEW WAS FOUND AT WOODRUFF HIGH SCHOOL. DISTRICT OFFICIALS SAY THE SCHOOLS WERE WITHOUT POWER FOR EIGHT DAYS, WHICH THEY THINK IS WHAT LED TO THAT PROBLEM. THEY SAY THEY DECIDED TO CLOSE ALL DISTRICT SCHOOLS OUT OF AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION. SO AIR QUALITY TESTS CAN BE RUN. WELL, GREENVILLE COUNTY STUDENTS ARE HEADED BACK TO SCHOOL TODAY FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE HURRICANE HELENE.
