El ex cricket de Gran Bretaña Michael Arterton es restaurado, el equipo perdió a 50 ° formato
Former England cricketer Michael Atherton opined that the England cricket team had surely regressed over the last couple of years. His remarks come after Buttler and co. were knocked out of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 by Afghanistan following an 8-run defeat to the latter. With this loss, England’s horrific run in Asia, which commenced with the tour to India in early 2024, has finally come to an end.

“England have regressed”
Speaking to Sky Sports following the Afghanistan game, Atherton said that the defeat to Afghanistan was a lesson for a troubled England. He noted that there were a variety of problems that led to this juncture, pointing out that Test cricket and successive T20 World Cups had forced England to not concentrate on the ODIs. Prior to the Champions Trophy, England suffered a 0-3 whitewash at the hands of India.
“I think England have definitely regressed. I think it is amazing and is a lesson in sport. The moment you slightly take your eyes off the ball, it can come back to bite you and it is very difficult to drag it back. There are all kind of reasons as to why they haven’t focused on 50-over cricket. There were two T20 World Cups that came in quick succession. Suddenly, you aren’t quite winning games and you are losing and you find that your team is way off the pace,” Atherton said.

“It hasn’t a team in full working order. We’ve (England) looked a little one dimensional with the ball. And not enough batters are in prime touch. There was Duckett against Australia and Root today, but there are lot of batters not clicking, like Brook recently and that is hurting,” Atherton added.
