Hacer ahora […]
Pakistan has always been, and perhaps always will be the most unpredictable team when it comes to the ICC tournaments. This Champions Trophy too, not much is expected out of them, and Mohammad Rizwan’s team has already lost a game, and also a key member of the side in Fakhar Zaman. Now to make it to the semis, they will have to win their remaining games.
Now, on Sunday, all eyes will be on their playing XI in the India vs Pakistan clash, with Imam Ul Haq being drafted into the side. InsideSport takes a look at their team combination for the match.
Get in Usman Khan & Imam Ul Haq at Top of the Order
The only changes that Rizwan needs to make to his playing XI vs India is, get rid of Saud Shakeel from opening slot, and draft in Usman Khan and Imam Ul Haq there. Usman hasn’t played any ODIs for Pakistan, but in 12 List A matches, averages 75, with a top score of 201 and a strike-rate of 117. On the other hand, Imam has played 72 matches and averages 48. So no doubt should be there.
Babar Azam Moves to No. 3, Followed by Mohammad Rizwan
Let us all admit, Babar Azam is best suited at No. 3 for Pakistan, where he can craft his innings. It is at this position that he averages over 60 and has scored 5416 runs with 19 tons. That also means, Rizwan comes in at No. 4 and would be the backbone of the batting order.
Salman Ali Agha and Tayyab Tahir Stay Put
Vice-captain Salman Ali Agha provides a good balance to the side and can score rapidly. He could be a good foil to Rizwan in the middle-overs. Meanwhile, Tayyab Tahir, who has a good List A record, needs to prove his worth against a strong Indian bowling line up. Last of the batters would be Khushdil Shah, who was impressive with his 69 against New Zealand.
Bowling Line-up Remains Same
Even though Haris Rauf went for a lot of runs, he has a knack of picking up wickets, and should be an easy pick once again. He has over 80 wickets in 47 matches, that shows how effective he is. Then Shaheen Shah Afridi would be the spearhead of the attack. In 4 ODIs vs India, he has picked up 7 wickets, and could be mighty effective again. Naseem Shah is a certainty too. Abrar Ahmed would fancy his chances against a struggling Virat Kohli.
