The unfortunate event took place on the third ball of the 38th over, when Khushdil Shah played a slog sweep. Rachin positioned himself to catch the ball but lost sight of it and was struck directly on the head. He immediately sat on the ground, bleeding, prompting the support staff to rush to him and cover his face with towels to stop the bleeding.

Clinical Kiwis defeat Pakistan in 1st ODI
Speaking about the 1st match of the Tri-Series, New Zealand completed a thumping win over the hosts as Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell played good knocks with the bat but the star of the show was Glenn Phillips, who scored a quickfire century and helped the Kiwis breach the 330-run mark.
In reply, the Southpaw Fakhar Zaman played a quickfire knock of 84 runs, but the Men in Green fell short of the target by a decent margin.
