Champions Cup: ¿Por qué ordenó a ICC PCB para devolver a los toletles del estadio Carachi?

Fecha límite del 31 de enero para terminar ICC – antes del 11 de febrero, el estadio Karachi no estará listo.

Champions Trophy 2025 and issues related to it continue. The International Cricket Board (ICC) has told the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to compensate certain spectators who have bought tickets for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy matches at the National Stadium in Karachi.

ICC unhappy with PCB’s Champions Trophy renovations

According to RevSportz, the ICC isn’t happy with the PCB going overboard with their renovations. As part of upgrades, the Pakistani board decided to install two new screens for better fan experience. However, the ICC feels that the size of these screens won’t aid spectators but rather hinder them.

Therefore, ticket holders whose view might be blocked due to the oversized screens for all three matches that will be played at the Karachi Stadium will be fully compensated via refunds.

‘New’ Karachi Stadium to be unveiled soon

For the unaware, the ICC deadline for competition for the renovations was January 31. But the Karachi Stadium won’t be ready until February 11. PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi had previously informed that Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari will open the newly developed National Stadium.

Even before the new stadium is unveiled, another issue has arisen. One can’t forget that Karachi will host the ICC Champions Trophy opener between Pakistan and New Zealand. The venue would be ready before that, as Pakistan has scheduled a tri-series with New Zealand and South Africa. Of the four matches in the tri-series, two will be played in Karachi on February 12 and 14, before the stadium hosts the ICC Champions Trophy opener.

Karachi Stadium fixtures in ICC Champions Trophy

  • Pakistan vs New Zealand – February 19
  • Afghanistan vs South Africa – February 21
  • South Africa vs England – March 1
