“Jadeja renuncia más que a mí”, una crisis pareja -moral después del acceso al mausoleo Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin has waxed lyrical about his partner-in-crime Ravindra Jadeja following southpaw’s exceptional show in the first one day international between India and England. Ashwin, who has always appreciated the great contributions of Jadeja, has gone on to say that the left-arm spinner is more so “gifted” than himself.

The duo of Jadeja and Ashwin is renowned to be one of the most deadliest partnerships in international cricket history. While India always had multiple batting stalwarts, including Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, the spin bowling department was held together by Jadeja and Ashwin. Following his retirement, Ashwin has been vocal about the current cricketing developments and had his reviews on the Nagpur ODI. During the match, Jadeja completed a remarkable feat of completing 600 international wickets, becoming only the fifth Indian and only the fourth Indian spinner to do so. In appreciating the superb record, Ashwin lauded Jadeja for being one of the most gifted players. On his YouTube channel, Ashwin said:

“Our media fails to appreciate when a player does well. Whenever we lose, everyone becomes a villain. He dismissed Joe Root (in the 1st IND vs ENG ODI). Jadeja goes always under the radar. He is a “Jackpot Jango”. He is +10 in the field, also bowls well and bats in pressure situations as well. We don’t give Jadeja enough credit.”

Jadeja, who sometimes gets flak for bowling defensive lines, was on point in the Nagpur ODI. He sent back Joe Root and even dismissed half-centurion Jacob Bethell. Jaddu finished with the innings with the best figures (3/28). Ashwin duly lauded Jadeja’s ability as a three-dimensional player, who can contribute with anything and everything.

Jadeja to surpass Ashwin’s tally?

What was heartening to listen was Ashwin’s well wishes for Jadeja to surpass his tally of most international wickets. When asked by journalist Vimal Kumar if Ashwin’s sees Jadeja doing the herculean job, Ashwin pointed that the fact that despite being 36 year-old Jadeja has enough fuel left in his tank to perform consistently at the top level.

“Jadeja is way more gifted than I ever can. He is a born athlete. His major advantages lie in his physical fitness. He is naturally fit. Even at this age, he can cover the entire area from long on to deep square leg while standing at mid-wicket. I wouldn’t be surprised (if Jadeja goes past Ashwin’s tally of international wickets). And I will be more than happy for him.”
