Todavía es necesario hacer el debut en Varun Chakratart
Varun Chakravarthy was the eye of the storm that capsized England 4-1 in the IND vs ENG T20I series. The spinner went on to bag 14 wickets in 5 games, turning the tide in Team India’s favor. However, now the attention switches to the ODIs. Former England Cricket Team captain Kevin Pietersen believes that now the English batters would be better against Chakravarthy.
Back in the T20Is, the English batters were baffled by the leggie’s variations and conceded their wickets. But Kevin Pietersen is of a different opinion. He believes that now the English batters will have it easy since it is a longer format of the game. Meanwhile, Varun Chakravarthy‘s antics earned him a spot in the ODI squad for the series.
Kevin Pietersen puts trust on English batters
“The English batters would be better against him in the one-dayers because they can spend more time. It’s a longer format, not every ball is an event. But I think it is a great decision (to add Chakravarthy),” Pietersen said.
Kevin Pietersen believes that since ODIs are a longer format of the game, that means not every ball is an event. He also stated that since it is a longer format, batters also hence spend more time on the crease.

Meanwhile, Ravi Ashwin too had also lauded praises for Chakravarthy. Ashwin claimed that it makes sense should the leggie be considered for a place in the India squad for the ICC Champions Trophy.
“We are all talking about whether he should have been there (Champions Trophy squad). I am thinking there is a chance he might be there. I have a feeling he might make it. There is a chance because all teams have named only a provisional squad. So he might get picked,” R Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.
