HIL 2024-25: Card Bengal Tigers fueron perfectos en la última noche, Thereal Galmarah Singh anotó tres veces para llevar a su equipo al equipo general.

In a rather close final of the Hockey India League 2024-25, Rarh Bengal Tigers got the better of Hyderabad Toofans 4-3, on Saturday at the Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium, in Rourkela. A battle that saw very close exchanges, Jugraj Singh scored thrice for the champions Rarh Bengal, while Sam Lane came with the winning goal.

It all started with Hyderabad Toofans taking a lead in the first quarter itself, when Gonzalo Peillat scored in the 9th minute of the match. Thereafter, after a quiet few minutes, Jugraj Singh swung into action and sounded the board with a PC, to equalise. A minute later Amandeep Lakra brought Toofans into the lead again, but that was never going to be enough.

Jugraj Singh struck twice again, in the 32nd and the 35th minute to take the game away from the opposition. While Peillat tried to bring things back in his team’s favour, but a 54th minute PC conversion from Lane ensured that Rarh Bengal Tigers sailed to their first ever HIL title win.

HIL 2024-25 Prize Winners

Eventually, at the end of the HIL 2024-25, Jugraj Singh emerged as the highest goal-scorer with 12 goals, while Peillat ended with 8. As far as the most field goals is concerned, Thierry Brinkman of Vedanta Kalinga Lancers ended with 10 goals, the most in the tournament.

Earlier in the evening, JSW Soorma Hockey Club laid their hands on the bronze medal, after they beat Tamil Nadu Dragons 3-2 in the third place playoff. While Gurjant Singh, Harjeet Singh and Prabhjot Singh scored for Soorma, Blake Govers and Jip Janssen scored for Dragons.

At the end of the tournament — Rarh Bengal pocketed a prize money of INR 3 Cr for winning the trophy, followed by 2 Cr for the Toofans, and one crore for Soorma Hockey Club. Sukhjeet Singh pocketed a cheque of 20 lakh for winning the player of the tournament award.
