2024 fue el año de Jasprit Bumrah, ya que se convirtió en el máximo anotador de pruebas (62) este año.
It is official now. Jasprit Bumrah is India’s most successful Indian bowler, at least in terms of ICC Rankings! The modern-day great has been literally unplayable for the Australian batters in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) and is magical spells have earned him his highest-ranking points ever. In fact, Bumrah, with 904 ICC rating points, is now India’s joint-highest-ranked Test bowler, equalling Ravichandran Ashwin’s record.
Jasprit Bumrah creates history to join Ashwin!
Ravichandran Ashwin, who announced his retirement from international cricket after an entertaining Gabba Test, still holds the Test bowling rankings number five with 780 points. While his position will obviously be downgraded now, Ashwin reached unprecedented heights when he claimed 904 ICC Rating points—the most-ever by an Indian bowler. Ashwin achieved this rating after the India vs England Test series in 2016. However, that ceiling has been touched. Jasprit Bumrah, who has claimed mind-boggling numbers in the ongoing BGT, has touched 904 Test ranking points.
Another decent outing in Melbourne will take Bumrah to newer heights and will make him the highest-rated Indian Test bowler ever. Bumrah took a magical 9/94 in Brisbane that helped him gain 14 points, taking his tally to 904. Bumrah became the number ranked ICC Test bowler after the 1st BGT Test in Perth. All in all, Bumrah has taken 21 wickets at an insane average of 10.90 and at a bowling strike rate of 25.14 so far in the India vs Australia Test series.
