India cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma was spotted wielding a baseball bat during a training session ahead of IND vs AUS Boxing Day Test on Sunday. The top-order batter has been in poor form, managing to score just 19 runs in three innings so far. The series is at stake in Melbourne and so are India’s hopes of keeping the WTC final dreams alive. Rohit will have to start firing all cylinders in order for India to take a lead in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The Indian skipper has moved to batting at number six in the ongoing series, returning to a role that he handled six years before.

Rohit Sharma hasn’t been in the best of the form in the longest format of the game in the latter half of 2024. He has failed to break free from the shackles of poor form and his poor string of scores continues from the series against Bangladesh and New Zealand at home. In the latter half of 2024, Rohit has only managed to score 153 runs in 13 innings, a worrying stat that shows his struggles even as an opener.
