Corbin Bosch has responded to the show cause notice issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The South African who was picked by the Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 auction had decided to skip the tournament and instead go with the Mumbai Indians (MI) to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

The two tournaments coincide. The IPL will run from March 22 to May 22, while the will take place from April 11 to May 18. Naturally, players have to choose between the two. And when Bosch was presented with the opportunity, he picked the bigger, better, and more financially rewarding franchise.

Presented with the chance to be countryman Lizaad Williams’ replacement for the IPL 2025 season, Bosch grabbed hold of the chance to change his fortune without skipping a beat.

Corbin Bosch reveals why he ditched IPL for PSL

According to Geo Super, Bosch has responded to the show cause notice. The all-rounder has explained that he didn’t want to disrespect the PSL, but he had to make decisions that were better for his future.

Peshawar Zalmi and Mumbai Indians offered him a similar amount of money: Rs 50-75 lakh by PSL and Rs 75 lakh by IPL. But Bosch picked the latter, as he thinks that by joining MI, he can not just open up his career to playing in the IPL but also other franchises that are owned by MI.

PCB thinking about banning Bosch

The PCB are ruminating about whether to ban Bosch from the PSL, like the BCCI did with Harry Brook who decided to pull out of the IPL 2025 season at the last minute. The PSL franchises feel some action must be taken, as Bosch has humiliated them and they should retaliate in kind.

But the PCB isn’t sure. They fear such a decision might drive other foreign players away from the league. The PCB has to make one decision: look weak right now by not punishing Bosch or ban him and risk pulling out from foreign players in the coming time.
