The main draws for the prestigious All England Badminton Championships are out now, which is also the most important tournament in 2025 for the shuttles around the globe. The tournament will be played from Match 11 to 16th in Birmingham. It will be interesting to see as all top-shuttlers from India will be playing in the tournament. India’s hopes will be mostly pinned on PV Sindhu in women’s singles, Lakshya Sen in men’s singles and the former world number 1 pair of Satwik Sairaj and Chirag Shetty in doubles.

Satwik-Chirag the only seeded players

Out of all the indian players, only Satwik and Chirag are the only players who are seeded in the draws. They are the 7th seed in the tournament. In their first match of the tournament, they will face 28th ranked, Denmark’s Daniel Lundgaard and Mads Vestergaard. If they move forward, they might play their quarterfinal match against the 2nd-seeded Malaysian pair Goh and Nur awaits them.

Tough road for Lakshya Sen and HS Prannoy

In men’s singles, Lakshya Sen and HS Prannoy will be the only representation from India. Although unseeded, they are ready to challenge higher-ranked players like Jonathan Christie (3rd seed) and China’s Li Shi Feng (6th seed) in the second round if they win.

PV Sindhu to lead in women’s singles

Talking about the women’s side, India’s top ranked player PV Sindhu and Malvika Bansod will be representing the national in the women’s singles. Sindhu, who’s unseeded, will be playing her first match against South Korea’s 22nd ranked player Ga Eun Kim. Malvika Bansod will be facing 13th ranked player Jia Min Yeo from Singapore.

Women’s doubles to pose a challenge

It’s interesting for women’s doubles and three Indian pairs will compete in women’s doubles including Priya-Shruti, Tanisha Crasto -Ashwini Ponappa, and Treesa Jolly-Gayathri Gopichand. However, the journey won’t be easy as none of them are seeded. Priya-Shruti will battle it out with top-seeds Baek and Lee from South Korea in their opening match. Tanisha-Ashwini will face Taipi’s Pei Shan Hsieh and En-Tzu Hung. Meanwhile, Treesa-Gayathri are likely to face the 8th-seeded South Korean pair Kim and Kong in round two if they win.
