El presidente de PCB, Mohsin ‘pronto puede tratar de mover el tema “Accial” de la India

The PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi is all set to don new hat, following the conclusion of ICC Champions Trophy 2025. As per various reports in the media, Naqvi will soon become the president of the ACC – a post that has been lying vacant. Although there is an interim chief — as the ACC head — Shammi Silva, the president of the SLC, but then, the Pakistani administrator will take up the role full time.

Meanwhile, the transfer of power is scheduled to take place after the ACC General Council meeting. At the meeting, the venues for the next Asia Cup will also be announced, that is supposed to take part in India. All this comes after Mohsin Naqvi’s role as PCB chairman came under scanner, when the CT 2025 venues missed quite a few completion deadlines.

Having said that, the ACC is also considering Sri Lanka and the UAE as alternative hosts, as per a report. However, the BCCI will still remain the hosts, even if the tournament is moved out. Asia Cup will be played in the T20 format, given the upcoming T20 World Cup in 2026. Eight teams — India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, UAE, Oman and Hong Kong will participate in the tournament. Having said that, Nepal will miss out.

Talking further about the Asia Cup, the fans could witness the India vs Pakistan clash thrice in the tournament. One will be in the group stages, another one in the super 4, if Pakistan and India go through, and then perhaps the final. But as was the case with the Champions Trophy, another problem is likely to emerge.. since Pakistan agreed for the hybrid model on condition, that they would also not travel to India.
