India ganó un maravilloso 2: 2 y perdió en el puntaje de tiro 2-1
The India Women’s Hockey Team stage a stunning comeback in the FIH Hockey Pro League. After a 2-2 stalemate against World Number 1 Netherland, the Women in Blue won the shootout 2-1 to stage a massive win over the Dutch side. After going down 2-0 early, India staged a late comeback to level the tie.
Pien Sanders ( 17’) and Fay van der Elst (28’) opened the account for Netherlands who took a well established 2-0 lead. Come the third quarter of the game at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Deepika (35’) and Baljeet Kaur (43’) parried to help India level the tie with a late comeback.

After the mega win, Hockey India announced a cash award of 1 lakh to each player in the squad. Meanwhile an award of 50,000 will be awarded to the support staff.
Coming to the game, the visiting team showcased their strength and dominance early on. The Dutch side won a penatly corner but was thawrted by an incredible save by Savita. The visitors then went on to win back to back corners but it yielded nothing. The deadlock was broken in the 17th minute by Captain Sanders who converted from the penalty corner. In the 28th minute they doubled their lead via a diving finish from Elst.
India parried back with two quick goals to equalise the tie. And then began the drama for the shootout. Deepika and Mumtaz Khan went on to score in the shootout while Savita registered a stunning save to ensure a thrilliang 2-1 hard fought win for the hosts.
