2023 pies de receptores desde Ft. Tiburón rohit

Rachit Sharma, que siempre lucha contra Sharma, que es un timón seguro, especialmente en el 50º formato.

When Rohit Sharma dropped a regulation slip catch of Bangladesh’s Jaker Ali in a recent ICC Champions Trophy match, denying Axar Patel a hat-trick, it came as a shock to many. Although dropping catches is not uncommon in cricket and has happened to many fielders over time, this particular drop stood out due to the high standards Sharma has set for himself, especially while fielding in the slips. It was certainly a poor outing for him as a fielder.

Interestingly, this incident brought attention to Sharma’s overall fielding record since 2023. Surprisingly, despite being considered a safe catcher, Rohit Sharma has dropped 10 out of 22 chances in the format. Among fielders with at least 20 opportunities, he has the lowest catching efficiency and is currently the topper of this unwanted list.

Most catches dropped in ODIs

Player Chances Caught Dropped % Caught
Rohit Sharma 22 12 10 54.55%
Brandon King 22 14 8 63.64%
Charith Asalanka 22 14 8 63.64%
Glenn Phillips 23 16 7 69.57%
Pathum Nissanka 23 16 7 69.57%

A total of 10 dropped catches out of 22 chances in the 50-over format showing a noticeable dip in Rohit Sharma’s fielding standards, which is certainly unexpected. Apart from him, quite a few other players are also struggling with their catching records.

Caribbean cricketer Brandon King and Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka follow, each with 22 chances and 14 successful catches, resulting in a 63.64% catch rate. While their numbers are better than Sharma’s, they still rank among the weaker fielders in terms of catching efficiency.

Last but not least, a surprising name on this list is New Zealand’s fielding maestro Glenn Phillips, who is always known for his exceptional fielding skills. However, even he has struggled, dropping seven out of 23 chances.
