According to a PTI report, Shreyas Iyer isn’t likely to feature in the India vs. England 2nd ODI. That was the reason why Yashasvi Jaiswal opened ahead of Shubman Gill, and Axar Patel was promoted over KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya in Nagpur. For the same reason, Shreyas won’t play ahead, and Jaiswal will continue as Rohit Sharma’s partner up top in Cuttack.

“That’s something for the head coach and captain to decide. Yes, the left-right combination is an important factor, but that’s not a question for me to answer,” India’s batting coach Sitanshu Kotak told the press in Cuttack.
