Inde en Nagpur 1 Rachit Sharma solo logró ejecutar 2
Things have been tough for India Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma. Former Indian all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin however, shares his sympathy for the Hitman. Recently, Rohit lost his cool after he was asked about his ODI return owing to his poor form in red-ball cricket. Ashwin revealed that it is a catch-22 situation where people will ask these questions.
Rohit Sharma’s form has dwindled after failing to perform against New Zealand. At the Border Gavaskar Trophy, he managed to score just 31 runs from 5 innings. This has led to scrutiny where Rohit’s future in the team is now being questioned.
It’s not easy for Rohit – Ashwin
“This is not easy. If you look at it from Rohit’s POV, then obviously, it is frustrating for him. He wants to concentrate on the series. He thinks that I’ve done well in this format, and I’d like to continue. I’m going into the tournament with a lot of confidence on the back of the one-day tournaments that I’ve played. But people will ask questions. The ones who are watching will obviously ask. It’s a catch-22 situation. You can’t stop these questions. When will they stop? When he performs,” Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.
Ashwin claimed that people will ask these questions. However, he suggested that the only way to answer these questions would be to reply by performing well. In the IND vs ENG 1st ODI, Rohit Sharma performed poorly again. He was dispatched after a mere 2-run knock from 7 balls, making his case further complicated.
“But as a cricketer, I understand what Rohit is going through. It’s not easy. I pray that he does well and scores a century in this series,” Ashwin added.

Ahead of the Nagpur ODI, Rohit was questioned by the media. He was questioned about his ODI career when Rohit lost his cool claiming that he is playing 3 ODIs against England right before the ICC Champions Trophy.
“How is it relevant that I talk about my future plans sitting here where there are three ODIs and a Champions Trophy coming in?” The reports are going on for a number of years but I am not here to clarify those reports. My focus is on these games, we will see what happens afterwards,” Rohit replied.
