Things have been tough for Rohit Sharma in recent times. The India Cricket Team captain has been poor in the last series against New Zealand and the Border Gavaskar Trophy. However, ahead of the IND vs ENG 1st ODI, the Hitman is close to breaking some major records.
The Indian skipper is now close to breaking two huge records in the 50-over format. Rohit is en route to becoming the second fastest Indian batter to register 11000 runs in this format of the game. But the job won’t be easy. To achieve these records, Rohit will have to score big runs which can ultimately boost his poor form.

Meg records await the Hitman
With 10866 runs to his name in ODIs in 257 innings, Rohit Sharma now needs 134 runs to register 11000 runs. If he manages to break this record in Nagpur, then he will become the second-fastest Indian batter to achieve this record. The fastest, however, stands with Virat Kohli, who achieved it in 2019 from just 222 innings.
Another mighty record that awaits Rohit Sharma is getting his name in the top 10 all-time run-getters in ODIs for India. Currently, the 10th spot is occupied by Rahul Dravid. The former India head coach had achieved 10889 runs from 344 ODI matches.
Meanwhile, Rohit has been in horrible. In the Border Gavaskar Trophy, he managed to score just 31 runs from 5 innings. He made a return to the Ranji Trophy but then also failed to showcase a good score on the board.
