La Premier League de Bangladesh enfrentará una nueva confesión controvertida como conductor de autobús, ya que el conductor del autobús confiscó una colección de jugadores que apoyaron a los jugadores y empleados no remunerados para aquellos que no pagaron.
After the match-fixing allegations, now the Bangladesh Premier League is facing a new issue with the payments. The franchise are delaying the salary of not just players but the support staff as well, creating a big mess in the league. According to Cricbuzz, foreign players and staff of Durbar Rajshahi have not yet received their payments. This confirmation came shortly after Rajshahi’s owner, Shafiq Rahman, informed the media that they had arranged tickets for the foreign players to return home.
Bus driver keeps BPL player’s kitbags
The salary issue now has reached to a new low when the bus driver, responsible for transporting the Durbar Rajshahi team, locked players’ kit bags due to unpaid dues. Both local and foreign players’ belongings were trapped inside. The driver insisted that without payment, he wouldn’t return the kit bags. “It’s a matter of regret and shame. If they had paid us, we would have given back the kit bag to the players. Till now, I have not opened my mouth but now I am saying that we can leave if they clear our payment,” said bus driver Mohammad Babul, explaining that he could leave if paid. As reported by Cricbuzz.
Players stranded and unpaid in BPL
The overseas players were stuck at their hotel in Dhaka due to missed payment deadlines. Meanwhile, communication from team management was lacking. Players like Mohammad Haris, Aftab Alam, Mark Deyal, Ryan Burl, and Miguel Cummins are waiting for payments. Some received a quarter of their dues, but others have not been paid at all.
Promises from BPL teams, but disappointment continue
Despite promises from team owners to settle payments, several local players left the hotel without receiving what they were owed. The non-payment issue escalated, leading players to boycott practice sessions and overseas players to avoid participating in group-phase games. The BCB said they would intervene, and the NSC formed a fact-finding committee, but foreign players are set to leave without pay.
Darbar Rajshahi in big trouble
The kit bags remained on the bus as a significant portion of their remuneration is still pending. The unaddressed payment issue overshadows Rajshahi’s completed travel across Dhaka, Sylhet, and Chattogram, leaving a dark cloud over the conclusion of the tournament.
