Bumrah is the first Indian pacer to be awarded with this award. Notably, the 31-year-old was remarkable in the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy even though India did not clinch the series and lost the series by 1-3.

Jasprit Bumrah was also shortlisted for the ICC Cricketer of the Year 2024 award alongside England’s Joe Root, Harry Brook, and Australian left-handed batsman Travis Head.
