El delantero paquistaní Ahmad Shehzod dijo que la había atacado para que se viera bien
Another day and another bizarre claim has been made by a Pakistan cricketer. Ahmed Shehzad, who has been inactive in the international circuit since 2019, claimed that he was targeted for “being good looking”. The batter, who was the first Pakistani to score a century in T20Is, launched a jibe at “senior cricketers” in the side without taking any names.
Shehzad claims he was targeted for looking good
In a podcast with Ahmed Ali Butt, Shehzad claimed that being good looking had caused him a lot of problems. He alleged that speaking and dressing well led to some senior cricketers from Pakistan resenting and targeting him. Further, he claimed that there were other cricketers in the country as well who faced similar troubles.
“Being good-looking has caused me a lot of problems. In our field, if you look good, know how to dress, and speak well, some people start to resent you. I’ve been a target within the Pakistani team for this. I’m not defending myself here, but there are others who have also faced this. If your fan following grows and people appreciate you, it’s hard for some senior players to accept,” Shehzad said.
Latest news
Shehzad announced his retirement in 2023 after he accused the PSL teams of deliberately keeping him out of the league. The out-of-favour batter has been excluded from Pakistan’s squad across formats over the last five years. He has played 13 Tests, 81 ODIs and 59 T20Is for Pakistan since making his debut in 2009.
“We come from small areas. I lived in Anarkali, Lahore, and when I gained recognition, I worked on grooming myself and improving my personality. But this has also caused significant problems within Pakistan,” he said.
