IPL 2025 está programado para comenzar el 21 de marzo de 2025
The Rajasthan vs Vidarbha Ranji Trophy clash has been moved away from the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The reason is the preparation of the pitch for the Indian Premier League (IPL) side Rajasthan Royals. As a result, the Ranji Trophy game will be taking place at the KL Saini Stadium.
Recently, the Sawai Mansingh Stadium hosted seven Vijay Hazare Trophy matches. But now, the Ranji Trophy clash won’t be held. “The state Republic Day celebrations are usually held at the Sawai Mansingh. Since the date clashed with the last day of this Ranji Trophy round, we were planning to move the game to Udaipur or Jodhpur,” an official told The Indian Express.
But then the Rajasthan government decided to shift their Republic Day celebrations from Jaipur to Udaipur. However, still, the game couldn’t be held as the work for the IPL had already begun at the stadium. “We understood that the state-level Republic Day celebrations were moved from Jaipur to Udaipur only a few weeks back. So we decided to move the game back to Sawai Mansingh, but the work for the IPL had begun by then,” said the official.
It is to be noted that almost 2 months remain for the start of the IPL. But the official pointed out that the game had to be shifted nonetheless as the grass-cutting work had begun. “We were left with no choice but to move the game to KL Saini because the grass-cutting work had begun at SMS,” the official said.
Meanwhile, the work for the IPL preparation is continuing in full preparation. This comes after head coach Rahul Dravid came to visit and assess the ground conditions.
