‘No puedo vivir en el pasado’: Rishabh Pant dice que ‘seguir adelante’ desde DC para mejorar

Rishabh Pant reflexionó sobre su decisión de cambiar de DC a LSG antes de la IPL 2025 y dice que tenía que hacerlo para mejor.

Rishabh Pant admits that it was a hard decision to move on from Delhi Capitals to Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2025. The southpaw, who was associated with DC since his IPL debut, was released ahead of the mega auction. LSG then broke their bank to secure the services of their new skipper for a whooping Rs 27 crore. Now, Pant is all set to embark on a fresh journey and is looking forward to spending more years with his new franchise.

Rishabh Pant happy to move on from DC

Speaking to Times of India, Pant recalled that he had joined DC when he was 17-18 years old. While he admitted that the decision to move on from the team was hard, the southpaw categorically stated that as a professional cricketer, he can’t be living in the past and instead had to move on to become better. He has now set his sight on building relationships with his new family.

I joined when I was 17-18 years, so it was a very emotional decision. But we are professionals, this is what we do. I’m not thinking much about it now. Once the decision was made, I knew it would be very difficult for me. I knew I would feel bad, but I can’t be living in the past. I would like to move on and get better,” Pant said.

While Pant was released by DC, LSG meted out a similar treatment to their former skipper KL Rahul. The Karnataka star was then bought by DC in the IPL 2025 mega auction, completing what was actually a swap with LSG for Pant. Now, LSG is all set to allow Pant to lead the side for many years to come. In fact, LSG owner Sajeev Goenka has claimed that he intends to see the side win at least 5 IPL titles, while envisioning Pant to stay with the side for 10-15 years. He even predicted Pant to join the ranks of Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni as one of the greatest captains in IPL.
