Ravindra Jadeja está disponible para el próximo partido del Trofeo Ranji de Saurashtra contra Delhi, pero no será el capitán del equipo.

Ravindra Jadeja is all set to take part in Saurashtra’s next match in the Ranji Trophy second leg which begins on January 23. The all-rounder, like his Indian teammates, reported for domestic duty following the BCCI’s directive to the players. The southpaw joined Saurashtra camp on Sunday morning for training near the Niranjan Shah stadium in Rajkot.

Jadeja won’t captain Saurashtra in Ranji Trophy

As per Times of India, Jadeja will not don the captain’s hat for Saurashtra. Instead, veteran Jaydev Unadkat will continue to lead the side. The report further adds that Jadeja is likely to play in Saurashtra’s game against Delhi and has made himself available for selection. He last played the tournament in 2023 when he led the team against Tamil Nadu in Chennai.

With 7466 runs to his name in first-class cricket, Jadeja is one of the very few Test regulars from the Indian team who has participated in the domestic tournament recently. While he did not taste much success in Australia, he will be aiming to improve his games while playing in the second leg of the Ranji Trophy. Apart from leading Saurashtra in the past, Jadeja has also led the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL.

The likes of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal are all set to take part in the red-ball tourney. Meanwhiile, Virat Kohli has decided to skip the first match owing to a neck strain that he sustained during IND vs AUS 5th Test in Sydney. Like Jadeja, Pant has also decided to not captain Delhi in their upcoming game against Saurashtra. He has reportedly informed the DDCA that he would help Ayush Badoni in all means possible to get a favourable result for the side.
