Prithvi Shaw is embroiled in a range of issues ranging from fitness to discipline that have put his future in danger. The out-of-form batter was dropped from Mumbai’s Vijay Hazare Trophy squad and stands very little chance of being named in the Ranji side. He was dropped midway through the first leg of Ranji Trophy as he was found to be overweight while he failed to perform in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. While former cricketers turned pundits have expressed their concerns over Shaw, astrologers have also joined the bandwagon now, predicting his road to making a comeback to be very hard.

No comeback on cards for Prithvi Shaw?

Speaking to Times of India, astrologer Greenstone Lobo claimed that Shaw had very little chance of making a “huge comeback”, if at all he stood a chance to do so. The astrologer predicted that the out-of-form batter could only make his comeback in 2026 provided he does “interestingly well” in domestic cricket. He further claimed that Shaw had very little chance of making his return to international cricket as he would be “completely replaced” in the future.

It doesn’t look like he is going to make a huge comeback, if at all he has any kind of chance to make a comeback, I would say that the possibilities are there in 2026 when Planet Y will become stronger, so in 2026, if he does something interestingly well in the domestic cricket, then probably he may get some sort of a comeback in domestic circuit, but if you’re going to talk about the international cricket, I would say that probably the chances are very very low because he will definitely be completely replaced. There is really really no place for him,” Lobo claimed.

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), red-ball skipper Ajinkya Rahane and white-ball skipper Shreyas Iyer weren’t too happy with Shaw – both form and performance wise. While an MCA official had earlier dropped startling details of how the team had to “hide” Shaw while he was on field due to his fitness issues, Iyer had categorically stated that there was no room to spoon feed the batter. Instead, he had urged the batter to figure it out himself.

With Shaw likely to be sidelined for the second leg of Ranji, his future currently looks pretty bleak. He won’t be a part of IPL 2025 either after going unsold in the mega auction. Only time can tell what is in store for the Mumbai batter and his chances of making a comeback.
