The Punjab Kings recently announced their captain for IPL 2025, as Shreyas Iyer will lead the PBKS for the upcoming edition. With this announcement, six teams have confirmed their captains for IPL 2025. On the other hand, four franchises, including the champions KKR, are yet to disclose their captain for IPL 2025. Royal Challengers Bangaluru (RCB), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and Delhi Capitals (DC) are also among those without an announced captain.
To note, KKR is still searching for Iyer’s replacement. Ahead of the IPL mega auction, RCB also released their former skipper Faf du Plessis, who joined Delhi Capitals during the auction, fueling speculation about Virat Kohli returning as captain.
On the other hand, LSG are likely to make Rishabh Pant their captain for IPL 2025 after purchasing him for a hefty sum of Rs 27 crore. On the other hand, DC managed to purchase KL Rahul in the auction, as the stylish batter is likely to lead the Capitals side in IPL 2025.
