No vendido en IPL, no deseado en PSL: Kane Williamson no encuentra comprador en el draft de la Superliga de Pakistán

New Zealand’s star batter Kane Williamson goes unsold in the Pakistan Super League Draft on Monday in Lahore. The Kiwi unfortunately didn’t get picked in the PSL 2025 draft. He was placed in the Platinum category, where 10 players got picked, but he didn’t find any team. Since IPL and PSL are happening simultaneously, most of the players who went unsold in the IPL registered themselffs for PSL including David Warner. Earlier, in November 2024, in the IPL mega auction, Kane Willaimson didn’t find any buyer after which he registered for PSL.

All Kiwis go sold but not Kane

In the platinum draft where Kane Williamson was registered, all of his Kiwi teammates got a team and buyer. Mark Chapman, Adam Milne, Michel Bracewell, and Finn Allen & Daryll Mitchell got teams, but Kane goes unsold. He was probably the only Kiwi player who didn’t find any team as of now.

Why Kane has no demand in the market?

Kane Williamson is finding it hard to adjust to the T20 franchise. Kane is primarily a Test and ODI batter, he has a lower strike rate in T20s and often finds it hard to put big shots and play aggressively with a good strike rate. This is one of the major reasons why Kane is not finding any team in any of the franchise leagues. Earlier, Kane has played in IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans.

Fab 4: All players playing but not Kane

Talking about Fab 4, all players have found a franchise team to play with, but not Kane Williamson. Virat Kohli is set to play IPL 2025 for RCB, Steve Smith is already playing for Sydney Sixers, while, Joe Root is playing for the Pearl Royals in SA 20. This put Kane in a weird situation now, only time will tell when will he get a chance to play from any franchise in the future.
