El código de conducta de IPL será reemplazado por sanciones sancionadas por la CPI a partir de IPL 2025: Informe

In what is set to be a huge change from IPL 2025 onwards, the league will no longer have its own Code of Conduct in place. Instead, ICC’s Code of Conduct will be adopted by the cash-rich league. The decision was taken at the BCCI’s General Council Meeting on Sunday. Apart from this decision, the start date of the new season, venues and others matters pertaining to the league were discussed in the meeting.

IPL Code of Conduct to go away

As per PTI, a General Council member informed that going forward, playing conditions will be followed as per ICC’s T20I regulations. Should the ICC’s Code of Conduct be adopted, some of the offenses that were previously charged would not be given, providing some reprieve to the players. As many as 10 Code of Conduct breaches were reported in IPL 2024.

“From now on, the ICC’s sanctioned penalties will be imposed for Level 1, 2 or 3 offenses. Till date, IPL had its own Code of Conduct but going forward, Playing Conditions will be followed as per ICC T20I regulations,” news agency PTI quoted an IPL GC member saying, on conditions of anonymity.
