Es probable que la Premier League femenina 2025 comience el 6 de febrero, con Baroda y Lucknow como sedes preseleccionadas. Es probable que el estadio Kotambi de Baroda acoja la final.
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) is gearing up for its third season, and the tournament is scheduled to begin in February 2025. According to a report by Cricbuzz, The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering Baroda and Lucknow as possible cities to host the tournament. The matches are expected to start on February 6 or 7, but official details are still awaited. Baroda is being looked at for the second phase of the tournament, including the much-anticipated final around March 8-9.
Kotambi Stadium: Baroda’s pride
Baroda’s Kotambi Stadium is quickly becoming an important cricket venue for women’s cricket. This state-of-the-art stadium recently hosted three Women’s ODIs against the West Indies and has been the site for Women’s T20 games and some Ranji Trophy matches. The Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) plans to ensure the facility is ready for more events by hosting the semifinals and final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy soon. Hosting the second phase of the WPL would give Baroda additional time to fine-tune the venue.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s absence explained
India’s cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur will not play in the upcoming ODI series against Ireland in Rajkot, scheduled for January 10, 12, and 15. The BCCI announced that Harmanpreet and bowler Renuka Singh Thakur are being rested for these matches. However, it seems Harmanpreet’s absence is tied to a visit to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, possibly for an injury check or treatment. The specifics of her situation remain unclear.
