India Cricket Team ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah is currently sidelined with back stress. It can be well expected that the veteran pacer won’t be called up for the upcoming India vs England ODI and T20I series. In fact, he will receive a call-up directly for the ICC Champions Trophy squad. However, there is still lingering doubt whether he will be 100% fit before the coveted ICC event or not.

Jasprit Bumrah suffered a back injury on Day 2 of the Sydney Test. He immediately left the field and went to the hospital for scans. He didn’t bowl for the last session of the day nor did he roll his arms on the second innings. The BCCI Medical Team is yet to reveal the exact condition of the injury suffered by the ace player.

What are different grades of back Injury?

There are three different grades of injuries and their recovery and rehabilitation time is different before the injured player takes the field again. If it is a Grade 1 injury then Bumrah would need 2-3 weeks of rehab before being fit to play again. If it is a Grade 2 injury then the player would need around 6 weeks to be perfectly fit.

And lastly comes Grade 3, in such a scenario, the player would need at least 3 months of rehab before taking the field. It is also worth noting that Bumrah suffered a back stress fracture 2 years ago. He underwent the knife and was out of action for almost a year.

It can be expected that Bumrah would extend his stay in Australia. The last time he had his back surgery, he traveled to Australia. Thus for a consultation with a specialist, it can be expected that he stays back. On the other hand, the wait continues for the star player as to how he can become 100% fit before the ICC Champions Trophy.
