‘Shubman Gill está sobrevalorado porque sobrevive con diez oportunidades’: la mordaz visión del ex seleccionador jefe de la India

Former India chief selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth tore into an out-of-form Shubman Gill and dubbed him as “highly overrated”. His jibe at the batter comes after the number three batsman’s miserable form in the recently concluded IND vs AUS Test series. Despite getting good starts, Gill failed to capitalize and convert them to good knocks, earning flak from the former selector.

“Shubman Gill is highly overrated”

In a video on his YouTube channel, Srikkanth claimed that Gill survived only because he was given ten chances and performed only in one of them while flopping in nine others. He claimed that anyone could score runs at home and that the real challenge was to amass runs in SENA countries, something which KL Rahul succeeded in doing so. Further, he questioned why players like Suryakumar Yadav, who had the tecnique and ability, weren’t given a long rope while Gill recieved the same.

“I’ve always maintained that Shubman Gill is an overrated cricketer but nobody listened to me. He is a highly overrated cricketer. Gill is right now surviving because he gets ten chances and scores on the tenth chance after nine failures. And because of that, he is getting another ten chances to succeed,” Srikkanth said.
