The speedster has already notched up 30 wickets so far in the series and is now on the verge of breaking a 52-year record. Bumrah has been phenomenal after scalping 30 wickets from just 4 Test matches and is en route to breaking BS Chandrasekhar’s record.

Just 1 Test match remains and that is all Bumrah needs to rewrite the history books. Back in the 1972-73 series, BS Chandrasekhar went on to script history. The legendary spinner scalped 35 wickets from 5 Test matches. Jasprit Bumrah is now just 6 wickets shy of breaking this huge record.

Jasprit Bumrah with 30 wickets to his name in this series has been the best performing bowler in the series. He has been India’s best-performing player and has single-handedly been the biggest threat to the Aussies. And now with the New Year Test in Sydney remaining, the speedster will be keen to break the record.

Among other records, Bishan Singh Bedi has 31 wickets to his name. His is also a record. The most wickets for India in a bilateral Test series in overseas conditions. Former India captain Kapil Dev too holds a record which Bumrah can break he if manages to scalp 3 wickets.

Kapil Dev has 32 wickets to his name which is the highest by a pacer in bilateral Tests. And as things stand, if Bumrah manages to scalp these 6 wickets, he will etch his name in the pages of history. This will help him solidify his spot as one of the best bowlers for the country of all time.
