Jasprit Bumrah has been India’s best bowler and the only bowler who has been a threat to the opposition. Rohit Sharma too had confirmed that India will be going for the win in Sydney and in such a case, there cannot be a shred of doubt that India can afford to rest Bumrah.

As things stand, India has a tiresome job if they plan on playing in the WTC Finals. They need to win the Sydney Test at all costs to draw the series. The ace speedster has truly been India’s lone savior throughout the entire Border Gavaskar Trophy. Jasprit Bumrah has now gone to notch up 30 wickets in the last 4 matches. In the Perth Test, he scalped 8 wickets. In the second match, he could manage only 4 wickets.

But then he came back strongly to bag 9 wickets each in the Gabba and the Melbourne Test. This means, that despite him leading from the front, he is overworked. It is also safe to say that Bumrah has not got the much-needed support from his fellow Indian bowlers.

And this essentially plays a huge role in fatigue. Not just physical but mental fatigue. And as things stand India cannot afford to let their ace pacer rest. Things are in dire straits for the Rohit Sharma-led side. India currently has just 1 game left to save the BGT series. Adding more pressure is also the fate of the WTC Finals.

If India plans on playing the WTC Finals, then they have to win the Sydney Test. And for that, the presence of Jasprit Bumrah is a must. In what will be India’s last dash to save the series, the visitors need all their guns up and firing. And in such an occasion, India just can’t afford to leave ou Jasprit Bumrah.
