Pakistan, who are playing four pacers in the ongoing Boxing Day Test, left out Shaheen Afridi from the Test squad despite him doing well in the historic 0-3 ODI series win.

Why was Shaheen Afridi dropped for SA vs PAK Tests?

According to Cricket Pakistan, the dispute arose when a PCB selector instructed Afridi to participate in a domestic four-day match. The fast bowler’s inability to comply with this directive was subsequently interpreted as “disobedience” by the selection committee, leading to his omission from the Test squad. Notably, similar instructions were issued to former captain Babar Azam, who, despite non-compliance, made a return to the team.
