En 119 entradas de la Lista A, Sanju Samson anotó 3487 carreras con una tasa de strike de 90,21.
It’s no secret that Sanju Samson has been a pivotal player for Kerala cricket, but things have taken a curious turn in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. The Indian wicketkeeper has confirmed his availability for the remainder of the tournament, yet the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) is still unsure about Samson, who enjoys unreal fandom.
Sanju Samson not in Kerala’s Vijay Hazare Trophy squad (yet)
Samson’s absence from Kerala’s Vijay Hazare squad was massive, especially after he captained the side during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) just weeks ago. KCA clarified that his omission stemmed from his decision to skip a preparatory camp in Wayanad held between December 13 and 17. “Sanju had informed us via email that he wouldn’t attend the camp. The selection process only considered those who participated in the sessions,” KCA secretary Vinod S Kumar stated earlier this month.
Samson is available!
Now, Samson has expressed his willingness to rejoin the squad for the remaining matches in Hyderabad. But with Kerala having already played two games, the KCA hasn’t made up its mind about bringing him back. “Sanju informed us over the last two days about his availability. However, a decision is pending as the full squad is already in Hyderabad,” Kumar told The Indian Express.
Veteran batter Sachin Baby is also unlikely to return after failing to recover from an injury sustained during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Kerala’s campaign hasn’t started on the best note. They suffered a heavy defeat against Baroda, conceding 403 runs, and Thursday’s clash against Madhya Pradesh ended in a rain-affected no-result after a batting collapse.
