In the first match against Pondicherry, he scored 137 from 69, then vs HP he scored 153 from 114. Against Tripura he smashed 201 from 97 and vs Vidarbha, got to 202 in 105 deliveries. That is some performance, that DC won’t be able to ignore.

To top it all, his 201 vs Vidarbha ensured that UP chased down a record 407, by eight wickets. Most importantly, they crossed the finish line, all thanks to Sameer Rizvi, with over eight overs to spare. This performance, truth be told, will be enough for him to not only get a position in the playing XI for IPL 2025, but could be batting ahead of the likes of Abhishek Porel, Harry Brook, and even Tristan Stubbs.
Look, KL Rahul would be slotted as the opener for sure, and perhaps a Jake Fraser-Mcgurk could be at the top, but Sameer Rizvi, after this performance, should not be batting lower than No. 4. In fact, he could emerge as the surprise factor, as most teams would not have seen much of him.
