With expectations of a landmark 1,000 runs in the IPL season, Kohli started off well but fell short by 27 runs. He hit a record 4 centuries and 7 fifties in this year’s tournament.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar of the Sunrisers Hyderabad won the Purple Cap in the IPL 2016 edition. The right-arm seamer scalped a total of 23 wickets in 17 matches and was a key instrument in SRH winning the IPL trophy.

Most sixes in IPL 2016 edition

Apart from grabbing the Orange Cap, Virat Kohli also topped the list of smashing most sixes in the tournament. The right-handed batter smashed 38 maximums in the IPL 2016 edition.

Apart from winning the IPL trophy, SRH also won the IPL 2016 fair play award.

IPL 2016 emerging player award

Mustafizur Rahman of Bangladesh won the Emerging Player award. Playing for SRH, Mustafizur Rahman scalped 16 wickets to bag the award.
