La bateadora del brazo izquierdo de las campeonas, Smriti Mandhana, estableció otro gran récord, ya que después de 91 entradas, se convirtió en la poseedora del récord de más carreras internacionales en un solo año.
Whether in T20I or ODI format, left-handed Smriti Mandhana is currently ruling the cricket field with her bat. After making a stunning 91 runs against the West Indies in the first ODI in Vadodara, she surpassed 1,600 runs in 2024 and has accumulated tons of runs across all formats this year. She has overtaken South African Laura Wolvaardt, who scored 1,593 runs this year. Not to forget, just before this ODI, the left-handed batter slammed three successive half-centuries in India’s 2-1 T20I series victory in Navi Mumbai, setting the record for the most T20I runs in a calendar year with 763 runs in 2024. Now, in ODIs, she is on top, having already slammed five centuries and 10 fifties this year, demonstrating how well she is utilising her top form.
Speaking about this ODI game, Mandhana’s innings, along with contributions from other batters such as Pratika Rawal important 40 and Harleen Deol 44 runs, helped India reach a total of 314 against the West Indies. Now, it’s time for the bowlers to do their job, which they did brilliantly by dismissing the West Indies top order early.
Now, take a look at the players with the most runs in a calendar year.
