As per reports, Shaw has been asked to participate in the tournament as the MCA attempts to revive his career.

As per Times of India, Prithvi Shaw has agreed to participate in the Police Shield tournament. While he will not be available for the first match on Saturday, he has assured the MCA of his participation in the reminder of the tourney. The tournament will involve two-day matches at various venues across Mumbai.

“Prithvi Shaw has been asked by Mumbai’s senior selection committee chairman Sanjay Patil to play for the Mumbai Colts team in the Police Shield, which is starting from today. While he isn’t available for the first match on Saturday, Shaw has agreed to play in the Police Shield from next Saturday. We want him to play for Mumbai again,” MCA secretary Abhay Hadap told TOI.

Prithvi Shaw dropped

Shaw, who had scored 49 crucial runs in the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) and helped Mumbai win the title, wasn’t included in the VHT squad. His overall performance in the tournament wasn’t that great, and given the issues MCA had with his fitness and discipline, they decided to drop him.
