Travis Head estuvo brillante en las series IND y AUS, con una puntuación de 89 y doscientas al respecto.
Travis Head is most likely to get a promotion, after his exploits in the IND vs AUS series, for the upcoming series vs Sri Lanka, as per a report in Yahoo Sport. With regular skipper Pat Cummins likely to skip the tour due to the birth of his second child, there are calls for the southpaw to take over the captaincy role.
Travis Head Skipper for SL series?
While Steve Smith, a former skipper, is the vice-captain of the side, Head would be more suited for the role, who has been in tremendous form during the IND vs AUS series, scoring two centuries already. Meanwhile, the series will start on January 29, and will culminate on Feb 6 and will be an important tour for Australia with regards to the WTC final.
Cummins too had briefly spoken about how he regrets missing the first few months after his son’s Albie’s birth. “It’s definitely a factor,” he had said. “It’s pretty hard to plan exactly the day, but definitely. I missed a big chunk [of son Albie’s early days] la última vez, y esta vez quiero descubrir cómo podemos pasar más tiempo en casa durante ese primer período.
Pat Cummins extraña
“Within reason, no one is ever going to bat an eyelid if someone needs to put their family first. We’re playing cricket, it’s not the end of the world. We want people to have long, successful careers for Australia, and you can’t just ask them to put their life on hold to go tour the world and forget about everything else. We’re pretty open when it comes to family.”
