Jasprit Bumrah respaldó a Mohammad Siraj durante la tercera prueba IND vs AUS y elogió su actitud y enfoque positivo.

India cricket team’s premium pacer Jasprit Bumrah came out in support of fellow bowler Mohammed Siraj amid his poor show in IND vs AUS 3rd Test in Brisbane. The Hyderabad pacer has been facing flak for not being able to deliver effectively with the ball. The Indian pace-attack has been criticised by fans and former cricketers for being over dependent on Bumrah in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Jasprit Bumrah defends Siraj amid IND vs AUS 3rd Test

Speaking to reporters after play on Day 3 of IND vs AUS 3rd Test, Jasprit Bumrah heaped praise on Siraj for continuing to bowl in Brisbane despite carrying a niggle. He pointed out that Siraj knew the team would be under immense pressure if he had walked off and hailed his “fighter spirit and attitude”. Further, Bumrah shed light on his conversations with Siraj on taking wickets and said that it was not possible for a bowler to pick up wickets on each day.

In terms of wickets and all, some days you will bowl well, the wickets will come as I spoke to him before and some days you will not bowl very well but the wickets will follow. So it is all money in the bank, that is the conversation that I have had with him,” Jasprit Bumrah said.

Jasprit Bumrah also revealed how he motivated Siraj by reminding him that he was doing something that many couldn’t do before – play for India in Tests. He admired the pacer’s attitude and said that the team loved his approach.

You are doing something that not many have done before. So I think he is in a very good space, that is what I know of. I don’t know what else is happening but he has got a great attitude and that is a very big positive for us,” Bumrah added.

Mohammed Siraj has taken 11 wickets from three matches in the ongoing IND vs AUS Test series. Bumrah leads the chart for leading wicket-takers for India in the tournament, having bagged 18 wickets so far. While the premium pacer is India’s best hope to get wickets, the rest of the bowling line-up is under-fire for pressurising Bumrah while not being able to deliver consistently.

Siraj has been embroiled in controversy, especially after his verbal exchange with Travis Head in the Adelaide Test. He has been criticised by former cricketers and experts for his aggressive approach on field. In the IND vs AUS 3rd Test, he was forced to take a brief break owing to a niggle. However, he returned to action soon after and bowled for the rest of the innings, while also managing to bag 2 wickets.
