Teddy bear toss has Greenville Swamp Rabbits delivering stuffed animal holiday cheer
It cross I back door tonight by Ingham’s blocker. *** huge save. And now the swab rabbits try to turn and burn up the ice. Three on three. They come, puck is sent on town and it started in, sorry. It, rabbits are on the board. It’s 3 to 1 and it’s bred Peterson who triggers fluffy pandemonium at Buns, the Cor Wellness Arena. Look at them c partner. Everybody’s getting their old baseball arm out there and it is raining bears and tigers. Oh my. Look at that and look at my partner. He gives it *** big hurl. He, oh, only five or six throws up. What *** throw by Mr Benetti. Almost partner. Look at them. They are still coming down, they are still coming down from all over. These little kids have been looking forward to that. People are proud in the ice. What *** time. Oh, somebody threw an octopus. I don’t wanna know how you get an octopus. There’s *** pink octopus that’s flying around. That must be *** Detroit red wings fan big. It’s gotta be. And uh, you got like it, man. This is *** lot of fun and they’ll just keep on coming. There’s all kinds, there’s *** huge bear that is stuck on the top of the glass down there. There you go, take it off and chuck it over and they pull out the truck, the swamp rabbit moving bands coming out as well. We’re going to have, I think Greenville Youth Hockey Association helping us with the clean up as well. So, the Greater Greenville Hockey Association is assisting with clean up. Oh, somebody hit the deck down there from one of our media partners. It looks like, I think that’s our intern Taylor. That’s *** tough spill. The swamp, the moving truck is coming out to Center ice, Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet has *** whole bunch of trucks coming out to help his partner. Let’s dive into who this is benefiting here because we see all of this fluffy chaos that there’s two coming in and the Salvation Army and the boys and girls club are *** beneficiary of this night. The United Way of Greenville County, they’re gonna get something out of this as well. Elio Santa has been *** great partner of the swamp rabbits in the community. This season, we saw Santa Santa coming over Greenville County Sheriff’s Foundation is also *** beneficiary of this night and of some bears. Miracle Hill Ministries. They’re *** great crew, fire pit ranch, getting some bears and they’re the beneficiary of the post game Jersey auction as well that the swamp rabbits are wearing here. Beauty marks for Girls Project Home Foundation, Happy Wheels, Youth Base and Carolina Family services. All are beneficiaries of this night. And what *** scene this is to see. I wrote story the other day about this game, all the historical scores and what not two years ago, I was working with the ownership and I got to help out the teddy bear clean up when Justin had scored. There is nothing more fun than to see all of these people get into this moment right here. It’s, you know, it’s *** great thing. We’ll talk about the, go ahead *** little bit. But you know, this is kind of what, what hockey is about it is. It is not as big as the NFL, but the people who have balled in the hockey, it’s growing, you can see here the growing it is *** community and people live for this night because I think there’s *** lot of goodwill in the holidays. Christmas is around there. We’ve got such good organizations that you mentioned. It’s just fun to throw something over the glass. There are still bears coming from that corner. You can see people from behind the net who pick up that they can’t throw on the ice from the protective netting side, funneling them over assembly line style. This is absolutely incredible that big old bear down here to our right in that corner. They have yet to get it over. Haven’t got it over. Let’s dive into these organizations here. But the Salvation Army and Boys and Girls Club over 100 years, the Salvation Army to serve people indeed across Greenville Pickens and Oconee County providing shelter for those in need, *** safe place to rest for those experiencing hunger, rent, utility assistance. Army continues to do the most good in our community. And the boys and girls club jumps in *** lot on what they do. They’re both related organizations. They serve Children who have been removed from their families and they’re an evangelical gospel and few mercy ministry. Jesus Christ is at the center of all that. They do. Fire pit ranch. They’re the beneficiary of the Jersey auction later after the game tonight. And their mission is to bring *** hope, guidance and love to *** generation longing for purpose through mentorship of young men in the upstate Beauty Marks for girls, *** non profit organization built on love resilience and supporting daughters of incarcerated mothers through mentorship programs, project Home Foundation. And this is *** near one to my heart because I loved working with them this summer. I know this is one that you have *** great appreciation for as well serving the autism community since 1997 providing *** lifespan of services to the autism community through programs that help families open minds, promote inclusion and expand potential w strikes to put smiles on the face of hospitalized Children in South Carolina. One day *** week, one day *** week. What began in 2006 has now grown to an agency providing services throughout the upstate with *** staff of over 50 that has touched the lives of 10,000 families in the last 18 years. We have the swamp rabbit moving truck out there right now, collecting all the loads of bears. The Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet trucks are out there as well. The electric trucks, they look absolutely fantastic. This was the moment we waited 24 minutes and 53 seconds for Brent Peterson from Austin Saint. Yeah, absolutely was good and *** couple of other quick. Thanks for that. Thanks to the Atlanta Gladiators. I appreciate their patience. I know their fans are there and you know, when we’ve had teams in before, when we’ve had this, they’re very patient and I do appreciate that. I appreciate the ability for them right to have *** break in the action. I want to say thanks to our, our players are right down there in the middle, helping pick these things up and by the way, there’s still *** few, still coming over, uh, coming over the glass and I appreciate that and appreciate all those sponsors that you’ve had as well. Appreciate Mr Peterson though. Right. That’s what I did. He, he got in the back. It’s kind of *** little bit of *** scramble there from sin and got it in the high shelf and that everybody saw it and that’s what started it. And off we go Brent Peterson with *** goal. He’ll never forget the teddy bear goal. He becomes the 14th player in 15 years of his game to etch his name into teddy bear. Toss immortality. What *** moment for him. And that’s something that no matter where you go in your career or what you do, like *** moment like this will last with you for forever. And it’s very interesting when you talk to these guys and these guys are big, tough guys, they’re supreme athletes, but they like that goal, right? And you talk to them about it and they get *** big smile on their face when they make that, make that goal. And, uh, you know, Mr Peterson is so good, you know, I see him before the games. *** lot of times he does *** lot of work out and he’s very limber and he’s very, very disciplined in his care of his body. Right? And he’s got such *** smile, but he is *** hoss, right? That guy is *** big guy and he does such *** good job, uh, you know, kind of keep himself and so it couldn’t happen to *** better guy. Right. He’s just been *** good guy, good guy for this team. I know he had some connections to this team even prior to getting here. I asked him how he liked Green, but he said he loves it. And I think we finally got most of the bears off of it. They’re making their way toward the, uh, Zam door and, uh, oh, there’s another bear just came over. Did you see that out here in the Atlanta? Uh, picked it up and, uh, we’re appreciative of that. And so I’m sure we’ll get under way here again. Partner, we got *** goal, 31. Let’s see if we can get another. We’ve got 1507 left. We are still being doubled up on our shots of goal 20 to 10. Hey, congrats to you bud. You took the coat off. You reared back and gave that thing to Nolan Ryan all of the glass almost. And I did not use any Yankees if you notice I used *** tight, I, I did. Yeah, I noticed the Texas, right. So if I’m Nolan Ryan, does that mean you’re Robin Ventura? How does this work? No, sir. I don’t want to be Robin Ventura for those that get that reference. I don’t want to be Robin Ventura. I just had to ask for many years even up through, I think when they went to the World Series, not this last one, but before back in 2010, they would show that clip almost every regular season game. Just Nolan and giving him the business. Todd Mackin has *** picture of that fight in his office at S it was awesome. There were times, especially in the, in the old headquarters in Cornelius when we would have meetings in there if I need to use it for whatever I would look on the wall and I would see the picture of that. It’s absolutely incredible. There’s still *** couple of gloves being thrown on out there. But, uh, thanks to uh Swamp Rat moving as well for, they’ve been really thankful for that. They’re now pulling their big box truck off the ice and uh, appreciate so much with them. Now, let’s get these other two goals back and let’s have *** game special thanks to Swamp Rabbit Moving for being the presenting partner of this game to Kevin Whitaker Chevrolet for bringing the trucks out to help the Swamp Rabbit Moving Truck Greater Greenville Hockey Association for having the kids come on out and be *** part of this moment, cleaning up the teddy bears and to all of our beneficiaries of this game.
