La reunión de la CCI del 5 de diciembre se pospone al 7 de diciembre
The ICC Meeting regarding the Champions Trophy was slated to take place today, but it has been postponed to 7th December. The apex global cricketing body was set to sit together and discuss the concerns as both BCCI and PCB have been locked in a stalemate for quite some time. But as things stand, reports claim that the ICC has rejected PCB’s demands for extra compensation.
The BCCI and PCB were at loggerheads with each other over the ICC Champions Trophy. Initially, PCB didn’t want to budge and wanted India to come and play in Pakistan. However, the BCCI didn’t agree and counter-proposed a hybrid model of the tournament.
ICC likely to side with BCCI
The PCB has then gone on to agree to the BCCI’s demands for a hybrid model. But in return, they countered some clauses which the BCCI and the ICC are unlikely to agree to. And now as per fresh reports, the ICC has rejected PCB’s demands for extra compensation regarding the tournament.
The PCB wanted extra compensation for moving out the 5 games from Pakistan. These were especially the India vs Pakistan matches the semi-finals and the finals. Now the PCB claimed that they will incur heavy losses if these high-profile matches are not held in their country.
And now the ICC will not likely budge with PCB’s demands. ICC is also likely to reject all the other demands from the PCB. These include Pakistan not playing any ICC event being held in India, India playing a tri-national friendly at a neutral venue with Pakistan and both India and Pakistan not being clubbed in the same ICC Champions Trophy group.
