Es probable que la reunión de la ICC para resolver el problema del Champions Trophy tenga lugar después de que Jay Shah asuma el cargo.

La reunión está ligada al calendario del Champions Trophy, que la ICC ya está retrasando en anunciar.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) isn’t likely to hold a meeting with the boards of major cricketing nations regarding the Champions Trophy 2025 until Jay Shah officially assumes office as the new ICC Chairman. Although his term as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCC) Secretary came to an end on November 30, he joined the ICC the very next day.

Uncertainty over the next ICC meeting on Champions Trophy

Since the ICC headquarters have been closed since Sunday (November 1), Shah wasn’t able to officially join. According to Cricbuzz, he’s expected to take office on the coming Thursday (November 5), and only then will a meeting be held that will not just welcome him as the new ICC Chairman but also raise the Champions Trophy and issue between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the BCCI regarding its scheduling.

The last meeting took place on the previous Friday (November 29). Unfortunately, nothing came of it. Due to the stalemate between the BCCI and PCB, it only lasted 15 minutes.

The PCB vs BCCI issue

Initially, the PCB didn’t budge from their stance. They made it clear that if the Champions Trophy 2025 doesn’t happen in Pakistan, they will pull out of the event and won’t send their team to India. PCB has proposed a ‘partnership or fusion model.’ As per this, the India vs Pakistan matches in ICC events for the next three years will be held in Dubai. This suggestion has reportedly already been shot down by the BCCI, and the search for a solution continues.
